LIVING UNIT
pavilion
2018
I came up with an architectural pavilion, where I break down the interior's classical attributes to enhance personal space's expression and materiality. The whole structure of the 6 meters big realization was processed from an intuitive paper sketch that was precisely enlarged with 3D scans and programs; the aim was to keep hand-making imperfections and distortions of shapes and volumes of intuitive making in the final pavilion. By distortion, pavilion parts might escape from stereotypical functions. The aim was to design the idea and emotional engagement of things than their visual representation. The spontaneous creative process and deconstruction of the individual installation components resulted in an immersive environment where objects shapes and meaning are trough expressive painting blended together, creating a living space evoking a cave stripped of normative functions but offering a speculative version of the human environment.
